"On a recent camping trip, when the person who was bringing firewood for the campfire didn't come , I was able to use this little stove as a mini-campfire. Placing it on the ground, I sat my chair in front of it and was able to warm up despite the cold wind. As for ease of use -- excellent! A suggestion: bring a little fire-starter of some sort that you can light before setting it inside the fire chamber. Using long matches is another possibility. A second suggestion: it's easy to set up -- big holes on the bottom; smaller, inside holes go on top. The tricky part for me was remembering how to repack it; it's not quite intuitive (for me). So, as you unpack this little stove for the first time, make a note of how the parts are packed - especially those parts that must be turned upside down to fit back in its bag. And Suggestion 3: I pack the Gas One inside an MSR 1.3 L pot w folding handle, which then fits inside the Gas One bag."
Ingenious and effective design
"I love this stove. Yep, it is a "twig" stove (a term I had not heard previously). I used damp twigs (we've had a lot of rain), which didn't work so well,. Then I used a piece of a starter pine knot --worked well. So, even wettish twigs can work with a little help. Starters are available at various recreational stores -- REI, Mast General, et sim. I've since used only twigs (dry) successfully. The stove packs down easily and fits in GSI 1.1 liter pot or MSR 1.3 liter "ceramic" pot or MSR 0.75 liter stainless steel pot (it helps to remove the protective netting). This little stove provides a primary source for heating water or a backup for the traditional canister stove-things (screws onto the canister). I foresee future purchases of this little stove as birthday presents."

"For its size this is a good stove, if you learn how to use it properly. I have used wood burning stoves for many years. I have burned small hardwoods in this as well as wood pellets. This little stove could save your life in an emergency situation. It pays to be prepared for the unexpected times that we have in this life."
